Guess the Match Game - Pairing Wine with Food
At this unique event, Italian wine expert Stefano Bagnoli introduced 5 different wines to be paired with Chef Maurizio’s 5 traditional dishes (pasta-fish-meat). The challenge was to match the correct wine with each delicious dish. Match perfectly and you could win a £30 La Locanda voucher and a bottle of wine (from the event’s tasting event).
We were honoured to receive the Mayor and Mayoress of Ribble Valley as guests at the event and they joined in the challenge with enthusiasm.
Everyone was given a glass of each of the wines carefully selected by Chef Maurizio to complement each course. Their placemat described each wine and the dishes being served during the meal. All you had to do was taste the wines with each dish and decide which wine paired with which dish. Easy…perhaps not!
The afternoon proved to be extremely entertaining and informative – if not challenging! Finally the winner – Chris was chosen, having matched a very commendable 3 wines to her dishes and was presented with her prize by the Mayor, along with the two runners up. The event proved to be a great success.
